Welcome to the first post of my blog Memoir Journeys. The purpose of this blog is to celebrate the broad range of true-life experiences represented in memoirs. It is intended to introduce readers to a variety of memoirs and inspire people to share their own experiences.
While I have read memoirs in the past, it was when I started writing my own memoir that I began to read them on a daily basis. I found many in used bookstores and learned about others through different sources. Although the quality of the writing varies, they all had an interesting story to telI.
I recommend memoirs on my website. Many are based on themes in my memoir When Tough Cookies Crumble: A True Story of Friendship, Murder, and Healing. They are divided into the following categories.
Best Selling Memoirs
Friendship
Women in the Military
True Crime
Psychopaths, Sociopaths, and Narcissists
Addiction
Other Memoirs
There are also books on Memoir Writing, for those who may be interested in writing their own memoir. All books include a brief description.
Most of the memoirs on my website can be ordered through links to Bookshop, an online platform that supports independent bookstores. You can either click on the book cover on my website or go to the link for my Bookshop Book List for that category and click on the book cover there. The Bookshop Book Lists may include books that aren’t on the website yet. I receive a small commission for every book you purchase through these links and 10% of your purchase also supports a local independent bookstore of your choice, at no cost to you. Most of these books are sold at a discount. I know you will find at least one that will pique your interest.
I will be posting book reviews on my website and through my blog. Sign up for my newsletter to learn about new blog posts, podcasts, events, and other news.
Happy reading!
